Mission & Distinctives

Academy31 exists for training up godly young women of character and competence.

By God’s grace, we endeavor to do so by the following 13 distinctives:

  • Partnering with parents and churches to teach and model biblical womanhood. (Eph 6:1-4; Heb 13:17; Titus 2:3-5; Prov 31:30)
  • Proclaiming Christ as Lord over every field of study and Scripture as sufficient and deeply relevant for all of life. (1 Cor 1:22-24; 8:6; 2 Pet 1:3-4; 2 Tim 3:14-17)
  • Presenting a thoroughly biblical worldview through every course and program. (Rom 1:18-20; Col 2:6-10; Rom 12:1-2; 1 Cor 2:12-13)
  • Personalizing education and discipleship to meet the needs and maximize the potential of each student. (Mt 28:18-20; Col 1:28-29; Rom 8:29; 2 Cor 3:18)
  • Prizing loving obedience to God and self-sacrificial service of others as life’s greatest joys. (Ps 119:97,111-112; 1 Jn 5:2-3; Mt 20:25-28; Acts 20:35)
  • Prioritizing Christlike virtue over the values and standards of this world, both individually and collectively. (Col 3:1-3; 2 Tim 2:22; 1 Jn 2:15-17; 2 Cor 4:17-18)
  • Promoting tender hearts and firm convictions. (Eph 4:32; Heb 11:1-2,6; Eph 4:11-16; Heb 10:23)
  • Preserving consciences informed by Scripture and guided by the Holy Spirit. (1 Tim 1:18-19; Heb 5:13-14; Jam 4:17; Gal 5:16)
  • Prescribing godly wisdom that applies truth to both thought and action. (Prov 4:5-6; Jam 1:5; 3:17; Dan 12:3)
  • Practicing corporate praise and prayer as a daily expression of our worship and reliance upon God. (Ps 100; Heb 13:15; Phil 4:6-7; 1 Th 5:16-18)
  • Pursuing heart transformation over behavior modification. (Hos 6:6; Mt 15:17-20; Rom 6:17-18; Eph 4:17-24)
  • Providing sanctifying relationships that encourage and hold one another accountable. (Col 3:12-17; Heb 3:12-13; 10:24-25; 1 Th 5:11,14)
  • Perpetuating a gospel-centered lifestyle that endures through adulthood for God’s glory. (Prov 22:6; Phil 1:6; 1 Th 5:23-24; 2 Cor 2:14-17)
