Academic Advising
As our school continues to grow and expand through high school, our Academic Advising services will increase as follows:

The PSAT 8/9 will be administered to 9th graders, and the PSAT 10 to 10th graders. These tests will provide our students with valuable, low-stakes experience that helps prepare them for the similarly formatted but higher-stakes college entrance examinations that most of them will take later in high school. Students will become familiar with the types of questions asked and receive useful feedback on areas of relative strength and weakness.
A college/career inventory will be administered to our students during each year of their high school journeys, understanding that their interests may change over time and necessitate adjustments to their academic plans and priorities during high school and beyond.
By the fall of the 2027-28 academic year, when we will have our first 11th grade class, we plan to employ an on-site Academic Advisor, a designated staff member with expertise in the area of college/career planning. She will research, compile, and discuss options for each individual student based on her own unique interests and potential, developing a comprehensive plan and timeline for college/career preparedness, including course sequencing, electives and extracurricular activities, in-house SAT/ACT test preparation, senior year Capstone Internship, college and scholarship applications, and more.
Two required elective classes–Future Planning (11th grade) and Senior Seminar (12th grade)–will provide focused time for students to develop and work toward these plans and timelines through group instruction and individual consultation with the Academic Advisor, as well as study hall time to work on assignments from other classes.
